Setting Your Goals And Intentions For The New Year

Happy New Year! I think it’s safe to say 2020 was one crazy year for everyone! Although it brought many things I think we can all agree we hope never happen again, I’m going to try and focus on the positives from this past year. We may have been stuck at home, but that also brought a lot of family quality time we would have never had. I think it also made a lot of us take a good hard look at what is really important in life. Some of which may just shift some of those new year goals for us!

As we begin the new year, I always love to pull out my fresh new planner and set my intentions. I use this one here from Inkwell Planners and love it! You can customize and build it to however you would like. At the start of a new year, I think of all the goals I would like to achieve for the year and sort of set the tone. Looking at the year as a whole can be quite overwhelming, so I will usually break it into quarters, that way my new year goals seem more achievable!

I usually make columns for each category and then list a few goals out for each. For example, health, financial, personal etc. Then you can decide which are short term goals and which are longer term. I always like looking back at the end of the year to see all I’ve accomplished. These are a few of my goals for 2021!

Health

  1. Workout 1-2 times a week- I’m starting small because I have seriously been slacking!
  2. Cook homemade dinners 3 times per week- another area I need to work on
  3. Be more positive- Shifting focus from the negatives to find more positives in situations

Work

  1. Post on the blog 1-2 times per week
  2. Start a newsletter to be sent once a week

Family

  1. Find more activities I can do with Little Mo to keep him learning and busy
  2. Continue to do family walks in the evenings
  3. Spend more uninterrupted quality time with the family (Putting that phone down!)

Home

  1. Finish decorating the living room
  2. Decorate the foyer

What are some of your new year goals accomplish? Leave them in the comments below!

Xoxo,
