Celebrating Friday With Rainstorm Wines

Rainstorm Wines

Pinot Rose | Pinot Noir

Happy Friday you guys! I couldn’t be happier to see my most favorite day of the week! With the weather warming up around here, on Friday evenings we like to sit out on the patio, open a bottle of wine with a pizza in the oven and kick back.  I recently teamed up with Rainstorm Wines and was given the opportunity to try two bottles of their wine.

Ever since I started tasting wines, I love to hear the backstory on how they’re made. I think it’s so interesting to learn about the grapes they use and how much work goes into making it. I’ve tasted many different wines, but never any from Oregon, so I was excited to try these out! The two wines I tried were 100% Oregon; I tasted the Pinot Rose and the Pinot Noir. Honestly, I thought they were both amazing! Two very different wines, with very different tastes.

The Pinot Rose portrays aromas of strawberry, rose petals and pomegranate seeds. It’s a dry wine with a hint of refreshing acidity. The grapes are selected from the Williamette Valley, which has a cool, mild climate; that is what helps give it it’s flavor. I love a rose wine for summer, so I definitely foresee more Rainstorm Pinot Rose in my future!

The Pinot Noir is fruit forward with rosehip aromas and flavors of bright cherry and pomegranate. It’s a 50/50 blend between the Williamette Valley and Umpqua Valley wine regions, which are both used to create this wine. The Williamette Valley has milder temperatures and produces grapes with great complexity, high acidity and elegance. The Umpqua Valley has warmer temperatures and produces grapes that are rich, deep and fruity. It’s the perfect balance between the two grapes, and I thought a very light, smooth wine.

Both of these wines are bottles I would highly recommend and that I definitely plan on drinking again. What are some of your favorite kinds of wines? Have you ever tried an Oregon wine before?

Xoxo,

Danielle
