Weekend Getaway In San Francisco

A couple of weeks ago we had a little weekend getaway in San Francisco. My cousin lives there, my sister and brother in law were there on a trip and Mo was there for work, so it was the perfect time to venture out! My cousin lives in Sausalito, right outside the city, it’s such a beautiful area with a laid back feel. So we decided to rent a house through VRBO in Mill Valley which is the neighboring town (also a beautiful little area). The house was really cool, set up in the hills surrounded by trees and an amazing view.It was really nice having a house that was so spacious, it made us feel right at home. I have used VRBO a few times now and I will definitely continue to use them in the future.

Flying into beautiful San Francisco!

The village of Mill Valley was so cute and had some really great restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques. It was so quaint and I just really loved the feel there. At the end of the night we stopped at an ice cream shop called Honeymoon. We got this dessert that had two pieces of cinnamon bread with ice cream and toffee in the middle and it was pressed, so it was warm on the outside, cold on the inside and the toffee was gooey in the middle, it was honestly perfection!!

This picture really doesn’t do it justice, but it was prob one of the best desserts I’ve ever had!

That weekend the weather in San Francisco was definitely not on our side! It was cold, rainy and foggy, but we still made our way into the city and headed to Fisherman’s Wharf, one of my favorite spots. We went to Boudin Bakery which is known for their clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, so good! And then to Buena Vista Cafe, known for their famous Irish coffee. These are two of my favorite spots down by the wharf, I highly, highly recommend them both!

When the rain slowed down we walked down to Pier 39, it’s so beautiful right on the water and the seals were out!

On this trip to San Francisco I finally made it to Muir Woods. I had never been there any of the other times I visited, so it was really cool to see. It was so peaceful and beautiful there! It’s definitely a spot to check out if you have never been.

One of my favorite places in Sausalito is a restaurant called The Trident. The back patio is right on the water and has beautiful views of the city. If  you are in the city and want to check out Sausalito there is a ferry that runs back and forth, which is great so you don’t have to deal with driving or parking.

Next time you’re visiting San Francisco I hope you’ll check out some of my favorite spots! What are some of the places you love there?

Xoxo,

Danielle
