In just about three months we will be coming up on our three year anniversary, I seriously can’t believe how fast the time has gone! With our anniversary around the corner, we’ve been reminiscing a lot about our honeymoon. When we were deciding on a honeymoon location we came up with a small list of destinations that we wanted to go to, but at the top of the list was the French Polynesia. Neither of us had ever been there and with it being so far, we knew it might be a place we’d never get back to and would always be somewhere special for us. We ended up going to Moorea, and let me tell you, we absolutely loved it!
We stayed at a few different hotels so that we could check out some different places. The first stop was the Intercontinental Tahiti. When you fly to Moorea you have to connect in Tahiti first and either take the ferry or a small airplane over. So our time at this hotel was limited, just spending the night so we could get up and take the ferry to Moorea in the morning. Even though our time there was short, it was so beautiful! This was one of the best views!
The next day we got to Moorea and spent out first few nights at the Intercontinental Moorea. The hotel was very beautiful and definitely gave you an island feel. We went swimming with the dolphins and enjoyed an evening luau on the beach.
The last (but definitely not least!) hotel we stayed at was the Hilton Moorea, and it was A-mazing!! The first few nights we stayed in a garden bungalow that had it’s very own plunge pool, and the last 3 nights there we stayed in an over water bungalow! It was honestly one of the most amazing experiences of my life! We when choose to go to the French Polynesia this was one of my top things I wanted to do. If you ever get the chance to stay in an over water bungalow, I highly, highly recommend it. It was so cool being able to wake up and go out on the deck to watch the sun rise. There was a section of the floor that was glass, you could see the fish and 5 foot sharks swim around (yikes!).
Moorea is definitely one of the spots that will be on my favorites list. If you’re looking for somewhere to go that is relaxing, laid back and has the most gorgeous scenery, this is your spot! We have so many good memories there, and I hope one day we will be able to go back and enjoy it again. If you’re thinking of taking a trip to Moorea, do it, you will love it I promise!
Who else has been to Moorea?
Xoxo,
