Happy Friday girls!! I’m so excited to finally be sharing this jumpsuit with you guys! I didn’t realize how much I was going to love it until I actually tried it on. The cut and wide leg are so flattering and I’m kind of obsessing over the red. I don’t really wear red too much, but I may just have to change that. It also comes in a pretty yellow/gold, which is another color I’m loving for fall. For size reference I’m wearing this jumpsuit in a small. I’m on the taller side (5’9″) so jumpsuits and rompers can be tricky for me, but this one gave me no problems for length. Can you even believe that it’s only $25? I literally wish it came in more colors, because at that price point, I’d probably buy them all!

The Instagram algorithm craze! I’m sure you have heard bloggers and social influencers talking about Instagram’s knew way of what type of content is visible to others. Yes, it’s gotten harder and harder for followers to see the content we are posting, that is unless we pay to promote it or if you turn on your notifications, alerting you when somebody has posted. It has taken a hit on a lot of people’s engagement and following and has been quite discouraging. I have to say, there are some days I ask myself why am I putting so much time into this if nobody’s even going to see it?!

Well girls, you’re not alone! If it makes you feel any better, I have talked to many other bloggers who are feeling the same way right now. These are some of the things that have helped me beat the Instagram blues.

  1. Focus on other social media platforms- Of course I use other social media, but Instagram has been my main social media outlet. I’m not going to give up on Instagram, but I have began focusing more of my attention on my Pinterest boards and blog as well. It’s important to not put all of your time and energy into one platform because well, this algorithm is the perfect example!
  2. Keep doing what you’re doing- I’ve heard so many rumors about what the algorithm is doing and ways to get around it, but in reality who knows for sure! I think it’s best to just keep doing what you have been doing that got you to where you are in the first place. In the mean time try changing up small things like switching up hashtags and where you post them (caption vs comments), different posting times etc and keep track to see if you’re engagement goes up each time you tweek a little.
  3. Be social- Talking with other girls I have met while blogging has helped me to understand I’m not the only one experiencing this, and some tips and tricks that they have tried or heard along the way. After all it’s called social media for a reason right?

All in all, yes it can be pretty discouraging, but it’s just a social media platform. It’s important to remember not to let something such as Instagram ruin your whole day! Try to stay positive and realize we’re more in control than we think. I think instead of focusing on how can I beat the algorithm, it’s better to work on how can I get my followers over to my blog, Pinterest, Twitter etc.

What are some of your thoughts and tips on the latest Instagram craze? I hope you all have an amazing weekend!

Xoxo,

Danielle
