Happy Monday girls!! Today might be the happiest Monday ever. Tomorrow is the Fourth and it’s an extra long weekend; how could you not be excited about that? Do you ever have one of those days you just wake up and you just feel off? There was a day last week that I just didn’t feel myself. Nothing bad happened, I just couldn’t get it together! It can be so hard to get rid of that feeling and not ruin the whole rest of your day. As I’ve become more mindful and conscious of my thoughts and feelings, I have found things that help me snap out of it. It’s definitely not easy, but here are some of the things I do to reassess and feel the positive vibes.

1. Hit the gym or take a walk/run

It’s  a proven fact that breaking a sweat releases endorphins. Endorphins trigger a positive feeling and help relieve stress. I have never had a workout that I left feeling worse than when I came in. Almost always I feel happier and in a better mood. Whether it’s going to the gym, taking a walk/run outside, or going to your favorite workout class; get your  body moving.

2. Treat yourself

Doing something nice for yourself always helps take the edge off, am I right? It doesn’t have to be anything big or expensive. Go buy yourself a cup of coffee, a mani/pedi, or a small item you’ve been wanting. A lot of times we’re always worried about taking care of everybody else, we forget about ourselves. So take some time to do something nice for you!

3. Meditate

This year I have made a conscious effort to make meditation a part of my morning routine. It hasn’t been easy (who knew sitting still doing nothing could be so hard!), but it does really help. When you’re feeling in a funk, take 10-15 minutes to just be still, and get out of your own head. I have been using the app Headspace, for me it’s my favorite meditation. It is about 10 mins and helps guide you through the process.

4. Blast your favorite jams

I love listening to music, and when I’m feeling down and out or just crabby it always helps lift my spirits. Of course you don’t want to put on Celine Dion “My heart will go on” (sob session!), put on some upbeat tunes. I recently shared this playlist for my workout music, these are some of my favorites. I love all different kinds of music, make a playlist of your top picks.

5. Step away from social media

Now don’t get me wrong, I love Instagram and my blogger babes, but sometimes you need to give yourself a little hiatus from it all. Sometimes I don’t realize how caught up in my phone and social media I am and just taking a little break can be good for you. Even if it’s just for a half a day. Give yourself that quiet time that all of us needs now and again.

So next time you’re just not feeling the positive vibes, try some of my tips. I guarantee you’ll end up feeling a lot happier! What are some things you girls like to do when you’re feeling off? I hope you all have a happy and safe Fourth of July!

Xoxo,

Danielle
