My Latest Skincare Routine

When I turned 30 last year I swore I was going to get into a better skincare routine. I know that as you get older there are more preventative measure you need to start taking to keep your skin looking fresh and young. So I started looking for the perfect products for my skin, was I lost! I felt so overwhelmed by all of the options and what I acutally needed to be using. After trying many different products I feel like I finally have a routine that is working for me. I have noticed my skin looking clearer and so soft. These are the products I’m currently using and loving!

1. Face Mask

I had seen a few bloggers mention that they had used this and that they loved it. When I checked it out and saw that you mix it with apple cider vinegar, I was sold! Apple cider vinegar is so good for your body, hair and skin. After trying it once I was hooked. While it’s on your face your skin gets really tight, it definitely feels funny! Then you rinse it off and you can have a little bit of redness to the skin, but it only lasts 20-30 mins. My skin felt so unbelievably soft after I was amazed. If you haven’t tried this stuff, definitely order it. I got mine on Amazon for about $12.

2. Makeup Removers

I have tried two makeup removers recently that I love equally. The first one is by Bioderma and works wonders! I love it because it has a water feeling, with no alcohol base. I always used to use those makeup remover wipes, and they worked great but they were drying out my skin and burned. This makeup remover is so nice because it’s so easy on the skin and gets rid of every trace of makeup. The second one is by DHC and is an oil based makeup remover. This one is also great especially if you like an oil to remove your makeup. All you need is one pump and it takes off all of your makeup and leaves the skin feeling soft as well. I would highly recommend both of these!

3. Facewash

I always thought face wash was one of those things you could just buy whatever and as long as it was soap based it was fine. But after a while I began to realize that some cleansers were to harsh for my skin and were actually stripping the oils from my skin, causing me to create more oil. This cleanser is so gentle on the skin and was like nothing I had ever seen before. It comes in powder form, all you have to do is pour a little bit into your hands, add water and rub your hands together until you get a nice lather. It creates a foam that is really easy on the skin and still washes away all of the dirt and makeup. So cool right?!

4. Serum

When it comes to serums I had tried a few in the past and was never really impressed, so I stopped trying them. When I tried this one from Bioderma, that totally changed my opinion on a serum. It moisturizes your skin without making it feel oily, I hate that feeling! My skin always feels so soft after I use it. I use it both in the morning and in the evening under my moisturizer. I honestly won’t use any other serum, this one is by far my favorite!

5. Moisturizers

A good moisturizer is something that I had always had such a hard time finding. I could never find one that felt moisturizing on my skin, and without that greasy texture. Before trying these two, there was only one other moisturizer I had tried that I actually liked. The first moisturizer I’m going to talk about is Bioderma Mat Control. I really like this one for daytime use because it helps to control shine. Like I said I tend to produce more oil, so this one is great to control that shiny look throughout the day. I use this and then put on my makeup and I’m good for most of the day. The second moisturizer is DHC Collagen All in One Gel. This moisturizer I use for both day and nighttime use. This moisturizer is so good, no oily residue and leaves your skin feeling hydrated and soft. It contains an antioxidant called astaxanthin that is supposed to be 6,000 times more powerful than vitamin c; it also helps with collagen and elasticity. This is definitely a moisturizer I will be buying when I run out!

6. Eye Cream

I kind of always skipped over using eye cream in the past, but I realized it was something I should probably start using. This Bioderma eye cream is one I have been loving! It helps to reduce and prevent redness and puffiness and erase any wrinkles. It also makes me skin feel super soft and hydrated. Whatever I have left over on my fingers I’ll swipe over my lips as well, which helps to keep them hydrated and feeling soft.
