Maui Adventures

Good morning! Today’s post is all about the fun things we did while we were in Hawaii. Since this was our first time visiting Hawaii, we wanted to take advantage of some of the things they offer to see the island of Maui and experience new things. I got to see the island from the ground, sky and water;  I’d say we got a good idea of what Maui is all about! I listed out everything we did while in Maui below and added links to them, since everything we did turned out to be amazing and I would recommend seeing and/or doing them all! If you stay at the Grand Wailea definitely take advantage of the concierge there, they were so helpful in recommending things to do getting everything all set up for us.

Spa

Grand Wailea Spa

When I go on a vacation I always love to go to the spa. I have to say the spa at the Grand Wailea definitely did not disappoint! It was voted one of the top 10 spas in the United States. They had a sauna, steam room, plunge pools, soaking baths and more. I got a deep tissue massage and it was amazing. They also had an area that looked out over the ocean and you could sit and relax, it was so tranquil. I will definitely be going back to the spa on our next trip! (I didn’t get any pictures because no cameras were allowed, but if you get a chance go to their website, it has some great pictures of the spa).

Luau

The Grand Luau at Honua’ula

We attended a luau one of the nights at our hotel, and let me tell you it was quite the experience!  We were served dinner with all of the traditional Hawaiian dishes and after dinner they put on a show with Hawaiian dances and music.  The dancers were very entertaining and interactive with the crowd. If you go to Maui you have to go to this luau!

The Road to Hana

Mahalo Tours

We had many people tell us that we had to see the Road to Hana while we were in Maui. After talking with the concierge we decided on a small group tour with Mahalo Tours, it was an all day excursion. Our tour guide was a native Hawaiian that had a lot of family on the island, so we learned a lot about Maui and the Road to Hana. It was beautiful and I would recommend doing the tour with this group because he made it fun, he gave us a ton of information and we got to see things along the way we wouldn’t have on our own or with another tour. Besides the fact that there are 620 curves, numerous one way bridges and you’re practically  hanging off the cliff on the backside of the drive lol! It was very cool to be able to see everything without having to worry about looking where you were going and freaking out!

Helicopter Tour

Sunshine Helicopters

We got to see the whole island on the Road to Hana from the ground, the next day we got to see if from the sky with Sunshine Helicopters! I was a little nervous about getting into a helicopter since I had never been, but it was a really cool experience! We got to see the waterfalls, beaches and mountains from above, so beautiful!

Our pilot Steve was awesome (he has flown George Harrison to his home and Jillian Harris on the Bachelorette)

Sunset Cruise

Alli Nui

The last adventure of the trip was a sunset cruise. We got to see the most beautiful sunset while sipping on cocktails, I felt like I was on the show Below Deck! The crew was so accommodating and nice and the boat was pretty amazing! The company was called Alii Nui, they offer all kinds of different charters which is really nice depending on what you want to do. Definitely check them out for any boating excursions in Maui!

Going through all of these pictures is making me want to go back!! Honestly though, I always knew Maui would be a really great trip, but I have to say it definitely exceeded my expectations. Everybody was so kind and helpful and treated us like royalty, and the island had so much beauty to see.  I will definitely be making a trip back!

What are some Maui adventures that you have gotten to experience?

Xoxo,

Danielle
